American Shower Company replaces showers in Wausau, WI with Premium Samuel Mueller Systems and Signature BathWraps® Systems, professionally installed by our own employees, many in as little as one day, with over 350 installs completed so far in 2026. Every shower is backed by our Lifetime Warranty and Workmanship Guarantee, and your free in home consultation ends with an exact price, accurate to the penny.
There is no one size price for a new shower because no two bathrooms ask for the same thing. Two product lines give you room to choose: Premium Samuel Mueller Systems for a heavier solid surface shower, or Signature BathWraps® Systems for nonporous acrylic walls and bases that are lighter and more economical. Size, glass, the valve and safety features do the rest, and the Wisconsin shower replacement cost guide walks through each factor.
Your free in home consultation gives you an exact, personal price, accurate to the penny, and the price American Shower Company writes down is the price you pay.
Planning a shower replacement in Wausau, WI is mostly about fit: the footprint you have, the look you want and who will be using the bathroom in ten years. This page covers the local housing picture, the options worth comparing, and exactly how American Shower Company runs the work.
Wausau anchors our Central Wisconsin service area, and accessibility comes up in most consultations here. The typical call is a long time homeowner who wants to stay in an older house, which is the case for a low threshold walk in shower with a fold down seat and grab bars.
American Shower Company measures your project and gives you a clear written estimate at no cost.
We are a local shower and bath replacement company and we stand behind every job. You are not handed off to a subcontractor. Every job follows the same disciplined process:
If you are tired of scrubbing grout or chasing black spots in the corners, the fix is a nonporous surface. Samuel Mueller wall patterns imitate subway tile, hexagon, herringbone and marble without a single grout line, and the BathWraps® Signature collection offers marble, simulated tile and textured grout looks, with the Lifestyle collection adding textured walls. One is solid surface, the other acrylic, and both are quality choices for different budgets. American Shower Company sends its own employees, and most showers are done in about a day.
American Shower Company works across the Wausau area, including:
Recent shower and bath installs our own employed installers completed near Wausau, listed nearest town first. The towns and months come straight from the crew's own job photos, so every line is a real home our team worked in. One of these was a shower replacement project.
You can pay outright or finance it. Financing is available, including interest free plans for those who qualify, and your designer can check eligibility during the consultation.
Both are quality choices, and the right one depends on your preferences and budget. Premium Samuel Mueller Systems are solid surface: Samuel Mueller compression molds its bases under 5,000 psi into a dense, nonporous piece with a heavier, stone like feel. Signature BathWraps® Systems are nonporous virgin acrylic infused with Silver Ion antimicrobial protection for the life of the system, lighter, offered in a wide range of looks and more economical. Compared with tile, neither has real grout to scrub or seal, and installation is far shorter.
It depends on the system and the choices you make, so American Shower Company gives an exact price after a free in home consultation rather than a guess. Premium Samuel Mueller Systems and Signature BathWraps® Systems sit at different points for different budgets, and the footprint, the base profile, the door, the valve and any repairs behind the wall set the rest. Our Wisconsin shower replacement cost guide explains each factor, and the price you receive is accurate to the penny.
Yes. Grab bars can be placed where you naturally reach, a fold down seat can be added, and an ultra low threshold Samuel Mueller base or a barrier free or Easy Step BathWraps® base cuts the step in. Samuel Mueller floors are textured for grip. Juli H. wrote that her new shower "will be great for my Mom and for us," which is a common reason people replace a shower.
Two things. The lifetime product warranty comes from the manufacturer of the system you choose, Samuel Mueller or BathWraps®, and American Shower Company backs its own installation with its workmanship guarantee. We can stand behind the installation because our installers are our own employees, trained on the systems we install, rather than subcontractors.
We fix it so the new shower sits on sound framing and a working drain. James Z. described his job this way: "A stud was replaced and the plumber found a faulty drain pipe and replaced it." Anything found at tear out is explained before it is repaired, and nothing is added to your price without your approval.
Many can. When the new shower uses the same footprint, our installers remove the old unit, set the new base and walls, connect the valve and clean up in a single visit. One customer, Jean S., wrote that it was "a great experience getting a brand new shower in just one day." Larger layouts or repairs behind the wall can add time, and we tell you that before work starts.
It is the Samuel Mueller shower valve. According to the manufacturer it delivers twice the flow rate of standard valves, resists calcium buildup, and sits inside a leak proof sealed work box that protects the wall behind it. The valve sits behind the wall, so the sealed box is what keeps a small drip from becoming a stained ceiling below.
Wausau has many long time homeowners who want to keep living in their houses, and the bathroom is where that decision gets made. That is why low threshold walk in showers, grab bars and fold down seats come up in most Wausau consultations.
Yes, because it is indoor work. Wausau winters are the coldest of our markets, so appointments are planned around the forecast so the crew can reach the house, and the old fixtures leave through a protected path to the door.
Fairly soft for Wisconsin. Wausau Water Works pumps from municipal wells near the Wisconsin River, and Wisconsin DNR samples from January 2026 show total hardness of 64 mg/L, under 4 grains per gallon. Soft water is easier on fixtures, so in Wausau the bigger reasons to replace a shower are age, grout failure and safety.
Over 350 installs so far in 2026, from the Fox Valley to Milwaukee and Madison. Here are some of the bathrooms our crew photographed along the way. The map shows towns, not addresses.
