What you pay for a bathtub replacement follows the choices you make in the consultation: the wall surround, the fixtures, the door and any plumbing worth updating. Two product lines, Samuel Mueller and BathWraps®, mean there is a sensible option for every budget, and our Wisconsin shower replacement cost guide explains the rest.
Your free in home consultation gives you an exact, personal price, accurate to the penny, and the price American Shower Company writes down is the price you pay.
Planning a bathtub replacement in Fond du Lac, WI is mostly about fit: the footprint you have, the look you want and who will be using the bathroom in ten years. This page covers the local housing picture, the options worth comparing, and exactly how American Shower Company runs the work.
Fond du Lac has some of the oldest housing we serve, and much of our work here is a compact bathroom where a standard 60 inch alcove tub is the only wet space. That is the footprint a trimmable Samuel Mueller base or a custom size BathWraps® base is made to fit in one day.
American Shower Company measures your project and gives you a clear written estimate at no cost.
We are a local shower and bath replacement company and we stand behind every job. You are not handed off to a subcontractor. Every job follows the same disciplined process:
Old bathtubs give out in predictable ways. Fiberglass can flex and crack, and enameled steel chips and then rusts at the chip. A Samuel Mueller alcove tub is solid stone like material with a seamless nonporous finish that resists staining and mildew, and it is built for the standard three wall alcove most homes already have. Pair it with Samuel Mueller solid surface walls or a BathWraps® acrylic surround, depending on the look and budget you want. Our installers can usually finish in one visit.
American Shower Company works across the Fond du Lac area, including:
Recent shower and bath installs our own employed installers completed near Fond du Lac, listed nearest town first. The towns and months come straight from the crew's own job photos, so every line is a real home our team worked in.
Not with American Shower Company. The price is accurate to the penny, and what we write down is what you pay. If the installers open the wall and find something unexpected, such as a failing drain, they stop and explain it before any added work is done, so you decide.
Yes. Most tubs we install also serve as the household shower. We can add a Samuel Mueller valve, a fixed head or handheld, and a sliding glass door so the space works for both quick showers and long soaks. Fixture choices include push button controls in polished chrome, brushed nickel or matte black.
We install Samuel Mueller alcove bathtubs, made from a solid stone like material, and pair them with wall surrounds from either Premium Samuel Mueller Systems or Signature BathWraps® Systems. An alcove tub is designed to sit inside a three wall enclosure, which is the layout in most hall and guest bathrooms, so it uses space efficiently and does not require moving walls.
Most take one day when the new tub fits the existing alcove. Krzysztof O. described an install where the crew hit a problem with the tub on arrival, "went all the way back to get the right one," and "still finished the job before dinner." Jobs that include new plumbing or wall repairs can run longer, and you will know that before work starts.
Our own employees, not subcontractors. They are trained on the systems we install, which is why American Shower Company backs every installation with its workmanship guarantee. Terri R. wrote that her crew was "pleasant, respectful of the property, patient when addressing questions and concerns."
Yes. Financing is available through American Shower Company. Interest free plans are available for those who qualify, with no dealer service fees or points added on the back end.
Samuel Mueller says so. Its tubs are made from a solid stone like material, and the manufacturer states that the material holds water temperature longer for a more relaxing soak and resists chipping and cracking. Your designer can show you the tub and the wall options side by side during the consultation.
It depends on the old tub, the wall system and the fixtures you choose, so American Shower Company gives an exact figure at a free in home consultation rather than a guess. Removing a heavy steel or cast iron tub, adding shower fixtures and glass doors, and updating old plumbing all change the scope, and Premium Samuel Mueller Systems and Signature BathWraps® Systems give you options at different budgets. Our Wisconsin shower replacement cost guide explains each factor, and your price is accurate to the penny.
Mostly compact ones. Many Fond du Lac houses are older and have a single bathroom with a standard alcove tub. A Samuel Mueller alcove tub, a trimmable Samuel Mueller shower base or a custom size BathWraps® base is designed for that space, which keeps most projects to one day without moving walls.
Fond du Lac sits at the south end of Lake Winnebago, about 35 miles from our Appleton office at 3984 E. Endeavor Drive and about 54 miles from our Waukesha location on Lincoln Ave. Consultations are free and booked through the main line, (920) 241 6575, and our own employees do the work under the same Lifetime Warranty and Workmanship Guarantee in every market we serve.
Hard. Fond du Lac Waterworks supplies the city from 17 deep wells, 745 to 1,150 feet deep, and Wisconsin DNR samples from February 2026 show total hardness of 290 to 370 mg/L, roughly 17 to 22 grains per gallon. Water that hard scales grout, caulk and fixtures quickly. A Samuel Mueller or BathWraps® shower has no real grout lines to stain, and the Forever Valve is designed by the manufacturer to resist calcium buildup.
