American Shower Company builds low threshold walk in showers in Fond du Lac, WI with Premium Samuel Mueller Systems and Signature BathWraps® Systems, with grab bars and seating where you need them, professionally installed by our own employees, often in one day, with over 350 installs completed so far in 2026. No two accessible showers need the same setup, because no two people move the same way. Swapping an existing shower is simplest, while taking out a garden tub or creating a level entry takes more floor and drain work. Choose between Samuel Mueller solid surface and BathWraps® acrylic for the finish, and read the Wisconsin shower replacement cost guide for the detail.
Your free in home consultation gives you an exact, personal price, accurate to the penny, and the price American Shower Company writes down is the price you pay.
Planning a walk in shower in Fond du Lac, WI is mostly about fit: the footprint you have, the look you want and who will be using the bathroom in ten years. This page covers the local housing picture, the options worth comparing, and exactly how American Shower Company runs the work.
Fond du Lac has some of the oldest housing we serve, and much of our work here is a compact bathroom where a standard 60 inch alcove tub is the only wet space. That is the footprint a trimmable Samuel Mueller base or a custom size BathWraps® base is made to fit in one day.
American Shower Company measures your project and gives you a clear written estimate at no cost.
We are a local shower and bath replacement company and we stand behind every job. You are not handed off to a subcontractor. Every job follows the same disciplined process:
A good accessible shower looks like any other nice shower. The difference is in the details: an entry you can roll or shuffle over, bars anchored where you actually reach, a fold down seat at the right height, controls you can press instead of twist, and a floor that is not slick when wet. American Shower Company designs those details in a free consultation, installs with its own employees, and backs the result with our Lifetime Warranty and Workmanship Guarantee.
American Shower Company works across the Fond du Lac area, including:
Recent shower and bath installs our own employed installers completed near Fond du Lac, listed nearest town first. The towns and months come straight from the crew's own job photos, so every line is a real home our team worked in. Each of these was a walk in shower project.
Yes, and it is one of the most common projects in older bathrooms. Becca K. wrote that her crew removed "a whirlpool from the 80s" and replaced it "with a walk in shower" in "a full 12 hour day." Larger tubs take more removal and wall work, and your designer explains that scope before anything is scheduled.
Because they are common and they get worse with age. The CDC counted an estimated 234,094 nonfatal bathroom injuries treated in emergency departments in 2008 among people 15 and older, and 81.1 percent were falls. The same report found injury rates rose with age (MMWR, June 10, 2011). A low entry, grab bars, a seat and a grip floor target those falls.
Our own trained employees install every shower, not subcontractors. It is covered by our Lifetime Warranty and Workmanship Guarantee: the lifetime product warranty comes from the manufacturer, Samuel Mueller or BathWraps®, and American Shower Company backs its installation with its workmanship guarantee. Kathy R. wrote that her crew "could not have been any more professional or courteous."
Yes. Financing is available, including interest free plans for those who qualify, so a safety upgrade does not have to wait.
A low threshold shower keeps a very small lip at the entry, enough to hold water in but easy to step over. A no threshold shower is level with the bathroom floor so a walker or a wheelchair can come straight in, which takes more work on the floor and drain. Samuel Mueller makes both, BathWraps® offers barrier free and Easy Step bases, and we recommend one after measuring.
It depends on the entry, the safety features and what the shower replaces, so American Shower Company gives an exact price at a free in home consultation rather than a guess. An ultra low or no threshold entry, a fold down seat, grab bars, a handheld and removing a garden tub all change the scope, and Premium Samuel Mueller Systems and Signature BathWraps® Systems give you options at different budgets. Our Wisconsin shower replacement cost guide explains each factor, and your price is accurate to the penny.
Samuel Mueller states that its shower floors are the most slip resistant flooring on the market, and the textured solid surface is designed to keep grip when wet. We pair it with grab bars and, where helpful, a seat, because no floor alone prevents every slip.
Many are installed in one day when the shower goes into the old tub or shower footprint. A no threshold entry, a moved drain or repairs found behind the old walls can add time, and your written price says so up front. Tracey F. noted her crew "double checked with me everything that the salesman and I had discussed" before starting, and finished in less than a day.
Mostly compact ones. Many Fond du Lac houses are older and have a single bathroom with a standard alcove tub. A Samuel Mueller alcove tub, a trimmable Samuel Mueller shower base or a custom size BathWraps® base is designed for that space, which keeps most projects to one day without moving walls.
Fond du Lac sits at the south end of Lake Winnebago, about 35 miles from our Appleton office at 3984 E. Endeavor Drive and about 54 miles from our Waukesha location on Lincoln Ave. Consultations are free and booked through the main line, (920) 241 6575, and our own employees do the work under the same Lifetime Warranty and Workmanship Guarantee in every market we serve.
Hard. Fond du Lac Waterworks supplies the city from 17 deep wells, 745 to 1,150 feet deep, and Wisconsin DNR samples from February 2026 show total hardness of 290 to 370 mg/L, roughly 17 to 22 grains per gallon. Water that hard scales grout, caulk and fixtures quickly. A Samuel Mueller or BathWraps® shower has no real grout lines to stain, and the Forever Valve is designed by the manufacturer to resist calcium buildup.
